first_imgCelebrating its 19th year with exceeding exhibitors, visitors and a record number of new hosted buyers has prompted higher expectations for AIME attendees this year, suggesting the GFC challenges from the last two years is well in the past.Pre-registered visitors have increased by 32 per cent to 4500 delegates who are expected to take part in the two-day event, an increase of 1000 registered in 2010.Despite previous big exhibitors, Etihad, Abu Dhabi and Oman pulling out of the show this year, 40 more has been fitted onto the show floor to reach 848, with new exhibitors including Switzerland, Vancouver, Rocky Mountaineer and Monaco.  Largest stands this year will include Tourism Malaysia, Philippine Tourism and Dubai Department of Tourism.AIME has also attracted a significant number of new delegates, with 48 per cent being first time Hosted Buyers as well as an increase of 27 per cent has of international Hosted Buyers. “We are positive about what lies ahead, the last 2 years has been challenging for the industry, but being flexible and adaptable has been key to weathering the storm,” new Event Director, Sally de Swart said.”These preliminary figures are very pleasing and we are confident that in 2011 AIME will generate significant business opportunities for all our attendees.” Source = e-Travel Blackboard: D.Mlast_img read more
