Another great proof that investing in events is not a cost, but an investment. After great success with Advent in Zagreb which last year generated about 500 million tourist spending, the Tourist Board of the City of Zagreb has accepted a new tourist product, which in its second edition was still bigger, better quality and more meaningful. The fact that the Festival of Light is a complete success and that it has the potential to be another major tourist event that generates a motive for arrival is shown by the fact that during the recent Zagreb Festival of Light, according to the Zagreb Tourist Board, 28% more arrivals and as many as 44 % more nights.Compared to last year’s period of the Festival, when the Tourist Board organized this event for the first time, this year there were 10.652 arrivals and 21.592 overnight stays in four days. In the mentioned period, there were 3.032 arrivals of domestic tourists (growth 32%) and 7.620 foreign tourists (growth 26%), and the most numerous were guests from: South Korea, Italy, Bosnia and Herzegovina, USA and Germany. Out of the total number of overnight stays, domestic tourists realized 5.094 (growth of 30%), and foreign tourists 16.498 (growth of 48%).In the meantime, there is no need to worry about it. ””I am extremely pleased with these excellent results, and especially with the fact that certain markets (Slovenia, Austria, Hungary) in which TZGZ conducted online and offline marketing campaigns achieved an increase of more than 50%, which indicates the success of both the campaign and the Festival lights Zagreb. “Said the director of the Tourist Board, Martina Bienenfeld. Also, as seen, and which is often he forgets, growth is not generated accidentally, rather than planned and strategically – a targeted promotional campaign in targeted markets. The results so far for the first two and a half months are also very good. More precisely, for the period 01.01.-15.03.2018. the number of arrivals increased by 17% (152.762) and the number of overnight stays by 24% (315.474) compared to the same period last year. These are data that once again confirm that Zagreb has become an unavoidable tourist destination and the Tourist Board expects that such a positive trend will continue in the coming months.
