first_imgAfter the matches against Eibar and Cultural Leonesa, Atlético will return to the Wanda Metropolitano to receive the Leganés (Sunday, January 26), meeting for which apparently could recover Giménez from the infirmary. Against the Leon team, Cholo could turn to less common players in the eleven as Adam, Arias, Beautiful or Llorente, but with the clear mission of advancing round. In the case of eliminating Cultural, Atlético will play during the week the round of 16 of the Copa del Rey (possibly on the 29th) just before visit the Santiago Bernabéu to play a derby against Real Madrid again (February 1st). Five games in 15 daysTherefore, at best, Atlético will play five games in 15 days with the squad under minimum, which could be six in 19 to advance to the quarterfinals. All taking into account that there is no more physical problem among its players, since some like Morata, Felipe or Saúl accumulate minutes and minutes without rest or alternatives. Although the rojiblanco team works to be able to incorporate a new piece in the attack, with Cavani as the big goal, the negotiations seem complicated and in the case of being completed, dilated over time. The arrival of the Uruguayan would imply some exit to complete the salary limit imposed by LaLiga.A litmus test for the physical state of Atlético and an end of January and beginning of February where the team plays its great options in the League, currently third to five points of the first two classified and the illusions put in the Copa del Rey. In the new cupper format all the matches until the semifinals are a single match, a face to face life or death where Simeone will not be able to speculate if he wants to avoid scares. And on the horizon, on February 18, Liverpool waits. The calendar is squeezed and Cholo will have to squeeze his players, almost certainly turning to Atleti B, to continue competing for everything. So, Simeone stays with 18 players to face next week, but two of them are Vrsaljko, still without medical discharge but already recovered from a cruciate ligament injury of his knee and Saponjic. Two players who have not debuted this course and apparently do not fall into the plans of Cholo, who prefers to turn to Atleti B players rather than the Serbian striker. However injuries are also punishing the second team rojiblanco and Germán Valera and Darío Poveda, two of Simeone’s debutantes this season, have fallen long-term injuries. Those of Nacho Fernández need all their pieces as they pursue the dream of promotion and lead the Group I table of Second Division B. Atlético already has a rival to debut in the Copa del Rey: the Cultural Leonesa. The rojiblanco team will begin next Thursday its participation in a tournament where many illusions are put for this season. It will be on January 23 when I visit the Kingdom of León in the round of 16, but before the League will return this Saturday (21:00) with the visit to Ipurua, always complicated fief. The games accumulate and the short red and white squad (22 players) will have to put their physical stage to the limit.A week ago, on January 9, Atlético began in the Spanish Super Cup defeating Barcelona 2-3 in a spectacular comeback. In that encounter lost to Koke, author of the first goal, with a myotendinous lesion in the right thigh That will take you out several weeks. Only three days later he faced in the final against Real Madrid, where the party had to go to the penalty shoot to settle. In the extension Giménez was replaced by a muscular edema in the left leg, an injury that will prevent him from playing on Saturday. The two safe casualties for the match against Eibar join the absences that the team carried Lemar, where the French have a hard time playing again until February and Diego Costa, whose rehabilitation after surgery of a cervical disc herniation goes step by step. last_img read more
