The Gophers are taking on New Mexico State.Minnesota, though, will be wearing its away white uniforms. This is not by choice.New Mexico State currently only has one set of uniforms – its home ones – because the away jerseys haven’t been shipped to them yet.Seriously.#Gophers will open season tomorrow at home in white jerseys to accommodate New Mexico State, as the Aggies white road uniforms have not arrived yet.▶️ https://t.co/O8nBtZ5RPR pic.twitter.com/2p00U9HVDN— Minnesota Football (@GopherFootball) August 29, 2018Minnesota explained more:Minnesota unveiled its new H.Y.P.R.R. Elite uniforms earlier this year and will debut them on Thursday. However, because of an equipment issue with New Mexico State, the Gophers will be wearing their new white uniforms instead of a traditional dark jersey at home. New Mexico State’s white uniforms have not arrived yet, so their only option for the game is a dark uniform. Minnesota has agreed to wear a white uniform on Thursday and the Big Ten has approved this one-time change as well. The white uniforms look decent, at least.Minnesota and New Mexico State are set to kick off at 7 p.m. E.T. The game will be on BTN.
